Thank you to Howie Schatzbery for the generous photo donations to our website each year!

The Canadian Hackney Society would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Kathryn Boyd.

BOYD, Kathryn Anne, BA. LL.B.
It is with great sadness that we announce that Kathryn passed away suddenly at home in Newmarket on Saturday, December 8 at the age of 60. Beloved sister of Edward (Ted), sister-in-law Leena, loving aunt to Christopher and Kevin. Loving cousin to Leah Golterman and Ellen Golterman-Campbell, loving niece to aunt Eva and uncle Ralph Golterman. Predeceased by her parents Laura and Charles E. Boyd.
Kathryn had many accomplishments in her life which included her world Champion American Saddlebred Palomino horse and several Champion Hackneys. Her other passions included teaching, world travel, Italian architecture and culture, sailing, horse racing, curling, golfing, and photography. She had simultaneous interest in fine opera, country, and western music and hockey. Kathryn taught at Pickering Collage for ten years and touched many of her students in a kind and positive way.
Kathryn was a graduate of Queens University and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1980. Kathryn practised law for 27 years as a partner in the Boyd, Cumming Law Office and touched many lives in a kind and positive way in that time. Kathryn will be missed by her family, friends, colleagues and clients.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday December 19th at Trinity United Church at 2:00 p.m., 168 Main Street South, Newmarket.
