Key's Temptation

Registered as Burtondale Chimes Temptation and shown through her career as Key'sTemptation, this small bay mare was a consistant winner in all levels of competition. Bred by Eric Burton, Brooklin, Ontario, Jean Smith did the showing and training.  Sired by Key's Sensation, who's bloodlines were that of the Alasa Farm of Alton, New York, the dam, Cedar Chimes was brought to Canada by the Kilreen Farm.  Cedar Chimes also produced Kilreen Shan Og, known as Mr. Pepper, a top entry in Hackney Horse classes in the late 1960s and early 70s.
Key's Temptation won in pair and tandem classes with Key's Maureena, and later with Jean's Maureen. Competitive in ladies and amateur classes, she could give a good show in open classes. This was proven with a win in the Harness Pony Stake at the 1973 Royal Winter Fair, with victories also at Ottawa, Western Fair, and the Canadian National Exhibition and the many fall fairs and horse shows Jean attended.  The combination of Jean Smith and Key'sTemptation in first place was a familiar announcement made by horse show announcers at large and small shows for many years. (Inducted April 2016)
