King's Bandolier

Bandolier

Kings Bandolier (Creation's King X Lucifer's Mystery Girl)  Exhibited by Mr. & Mrs. Mathew McDougall, Erin, ON.  Trained by Matt and Myrtle McDougall.  Bred by Heyl Pony Farm Washington IL.  King's Bandolier was shown by the McDougalls winning a good number of singles classes, as well as pair classes with King's Madonna.  Following a few successful seasons, having won classes at teh CNE, St. Catherines, numerous fall fairs, and his Royal Stake win in 1990, he caught the attention of Mrs. A.C. Thompson, Elmburst, IL. who bought and showed him for the rest of the 1960's.  Doc Flannery had seen the pony exhibited at the Royal and thought he would be a fine addition to the Thompson Stable.  With Eddie Bruns' training, Bandolier was Champion at the Chicago International twice, and Reserve once, as well as winning a lot of classes at the shows throughout the Midwest US.  When Mrs. Thompson retired from showing the pony was returned to the care of the McDougalls.  A well deserved retirement ceremony was held at the 1971 Erin Fall Fair and Bandolier lived out his days at the Shamrock Stables of Erin, On.  (Inducted March 2007)
